Solemn 25th Anniversary of 9/11

Hello Dreamers.
I want to take a moment to remember September 11th, 2001. While I live in Canada and have never set foot in New York City, this day left its mark on the world.
The death toll of ~3000 people, most of which were workers, bystanders, and first responders, drew terror within North America. That terror reshaped airport security, it fuelled bigotry against anyone resemblant of the terror-cultists responsible, justified government overruling rights of habeas corpus and forever war in the Middle East, and represented a loss of innocence in seeing what tragedy can be possible and dealing with a foe not afraid to die.
Of course, we need to remember the courage of those on flight 93, the ones on the hijacked plane that crashed in the forest. This was as the passengers understood what was happening, and fought to save countless by stopping plane from going to its intended target - many suspecting it to be the White House.
Only Canadians can destroy the White House!
Speaking of, lets also remember the efforts of those in Gander, Newfoundland. They housed and fed passengers who got stranded when their plane was forced to land due to the attack upon the Trade Centre and the Pentagon, many of whom were Americans.
Myself, I was 13 in a classroom when a teacher put the news on the TV, showing the North Tower burning. It wouldn't be until I got home when I realised the images were real, not a movie or TV show.
25 years have passed since then, where the US has declined to the point where their president won't be at the memorial. Still, the people of New York never forgot, and neither has the rest of the world, whom still live within its shadow, haunted by the events themselves, and what happens next.
