CanCon Ottawa Debrief
Hello Dreamers.
I know this one is late as I have been having issues with energy levels. Still, I can try to give you the lowdown of the convention.

Saleswise I made two sales on the Friday (one of them before the vendor room officially opened), nothing on the Saturday, and three on the Sunday. Chatting with possible readers and other authors is the end all for the Convention, but its still nice to make some sales.
This year I shared a table with Toronto Sci-Fi and Fantasy, so I help with the sale of other books. Including taking card payments for the others at the table who didn't get a square. I mean, the little white reader is about $60, and you don't even need it for tap enabled credit cards, with is most credit cards these days.
I checked out one panel at the convention on Violent Victims. It devolved into a discussion about how audiences and gatekeepers alike are dumb, racist, sexist, and lgbtphobic, thus ruining the art as victims have to be presented a certain way if they are not white, straight, Christian men. While true, your asking an individual to solve bigotry, and accept you're writing for morons. It also touched on how people only say they support the mentality ill, but then demand institutionalisation if someone acts out because of mental illness.
Felt like a waste of time, so I didn't bother with the other panels. I'm told panels are the point of CanCon, so on that note I think I will do DreadCon next year.
I did attend two game demos though. Yes there was a company at the con that did table top gaming, so I demoed The Last Fight - a dungeon crawler board game with a d-6 system, and Shift a TTRPG. Fun times.
Course, I managed to find Stephan. Got my copy of Fifty Shades of Neigh signed, and I think I might be heading the antho for MFers. Stay tuned.
Now, here is the Haul Video. Enjoy.
