Its a digital representation of a painting I commissioned from an artist in the Ottawa area known as AJ LaFrance. You can see his other work on his instagram, much of it nautical themed. Many mermaids and octopods. So naturally I went to him when I couldn't get the guy who did the cover for Whispers of the Abyss.

The Best Part

I got it before the Kickstarter, so I can use it as the thumbnail, and lord it over everyone as part of the book's marketing.
